## Career
### Early Career
Braymen earned a degree in Music Performance from the University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music in 1981.[^ref-3] He later studied computer programming at DeAnza College from 1986 to 1987, preparing himself for a career that would bridge traditional composition with emerging digital audio technology.[^ref-3]
He joined Sierra On-Line in February 1990, beginning his career in video game audio during a period of rapid technological advancement.[^ref-1] At Sierra, he primarily worked alongside [[Mark Seibert]], the company's music director, learning the craft of game composition and sound design.[^ref-1] His early credits included Oil's Well (1990) where he created cartoon sound effects with Seibert, and the Amiga port of Police Quest 2.[^ref-1]
### Sierra Years (1990–1993)
During his nearly four-year tenure at Sierra, Braymen contributed to some of the company's most celebrated adventure games.[^ref-1] His work on Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire marked one of his significant early compositions, sharing credit with Mark Seibert.[^ref-5] The EcoQuest series showcased his versatility, with Braymen composing music for EcoQuest: The Search for Cetus alongside Seibert, Aubrey Hodges, Dan Kehler, and Orpheus Hanley.[^ref-6]
His most prominent Sierra work came with King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow (1992), where he served as the primary composer.[^ref-7] The game's soundtrack, including atmospheric pieces for the Land of the Dead and the various islands, helped establish the game's fairy-tale atmosphere.[^ref-8] The soundtrack has been praised for its emotional depth, with Braymen quoting the Gregorian chant "Dies Irae" in the theme that plays when Prince Alexander is captured in the Catacombs of the Isle of the Sacred Mountain.[^ref-9]
Braymen also served as composer on Laura Bow II: The Dagger of Amon Ra (1992), creating memorable pieces including "Dr. Carter's Murder" which was later used in the Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator Deluxe Edition.[^ref-10] His final Sierra project was Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers (1993), where he worked on sound design alongside Orpheus Hanley, Robert Holmes, and Mark Seibert.[^ref-11]
Other notable Sierra credits include Castle of Dr. Brain, Conquests of the Longbow, Mixed-Up Fairy Tales, and Leisure Suit Larry 5 and 6.[^ref-1]
