# Virgin Games

## Overview
Virgin Games (later Virgin Interactive Entertainment) was a video game publishing company that was part of Richard Branson's Virgin Group.[^ref-1][^ref-5][^ref-9][^ref-13] Founded in 1983, the company published numerous titles across multiple platforms before being acquired by Titus Interactive in 2003.[^ref-2][^ref-6][^ref-10][^ref-14]
## Sierra Connection
Virgin Games published titles developed by studios that later worked with Sierra:
**Synergistic Software:** Virgin published *Spirit of Excalibur* (1990), *Vengeance of Excalibur* (1991), and *Conan: The Cimmerian* (1991) before Synergistic was acquired by Sierra in 1996.[^ref-3][^ref-7][^ref-11][^ref-15]
**Papyrus Design Group:** Virgin Interactive published the original *NASCAR Racing* (1994) before Papyrus was acquired by Sierra in 1995.[^ref-4][^ref-8][^ref-12]
