Sierra Documentary — Rough Cut Trimmed to ~2 Hours
July 9, 2026 — On the crowdfund’s two-year anniversary, the Legends of Adventure team confirmed the film is down from its 4h12m rough cut to a nearly completed two-hour cut, still targeting a 2026 release. An earlier June 19 update covered the film’s original score and merch reveals.
The Johnny Castaway Renaissance — Now on PlayStation 1
July 5, 2026 — Johnny Castaway hit v1.0.0 on the PlayStation 1: Hunter Davis’s port validates all 63 scenes pixel-perfect against the original Sierra engine. It caps a remarkable wave of 2026 recreations — five independent open-source projects and counting:

- 🦀 Wilson Reborn — Rust clone for Windows/Linux/macOS/browser, full-parity goal (v0.3.2, June 26)

Johnny Castaway Comes to Modern macOS
June 10–11, 2026 — A native Swift recreation of Johnny Castaway, the classic 1992 Sierra/Dynamix screensaver, shipped its first public releases (v0.1.0 through v0.2.5) — real-time story arcs, gags, and holiday events on modern Macs. (Developed by SierraVault’s maintainer.)

- Jun 20 — ScummVM 2026.3.0 “Carousels & Killer Whales” released (Nancy Drew 8–9, Noctropolis; no Sierra-specific changes) — Announcement
Gobliiins Collection — First Console Release for the Series
May 27, 2026 — Red Art Games shadow-released the Gobliiins Collection for PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch ($24.99) — the first console compilation in series history, bundling Gobliiins, Gobliins 2, Goblins Quest 3, Gobliiins 4, and Gobliiins 5. Extras include a new Pierre Gilhodes interview, a mini-series gallery, and a music player. A physical PS5 edition follows September 24, 2026.
DOSBox Staging 0.83.0-RC1 — Authentic Roland SC-55 Emulation
May 20, 2026 — Release candidate adds 100% authentic Roland SC-55 emulation (via Nuked-SC55) — the sound module Sierra’s General MIDI-era soundtracks (KQ6, Gabriel Knight, SQ5) were scored for — plus authentic CRT color emulation and disk-noise emulation. Final 0.83.0 still pending.
SpaceVenture — First Major Post-Release Review: 73%
April 3, 2026 — Adventure Game Hotspot reviewed the full release of SpaceVenture at 73% — “a fairly entertaining experience tailored especially for Space Quest fans,” praising the voice work and Ken Allen’s soundtrack. The game continues to receive fixes (v2.08.11, June 10).
Quest for Infamy: Roehm to Ruin — Final Voice Recording Booked for May
April 4, 2026 — Infamous Quests’s Steven “Bt” Alexander confirmed via Patreon that studio time is booked in May 2026 for Steve Patrick to record the remaining Mr. Roehm lines for Quest for Infamy: Roehm to Ruin — the final outstanding production step on the long-awaited prequel. The team has also planned a RetroGameCon Syracuse (Oct 2026) showcase to coincide with release.

Gobliins 6 — Release Imminent
February 2, 2026 — Pierre Gilhodes posted a Kickstarter update confirming Gobliins 6 is complete and awaiting release. Keys will be distributed via email with Steam as default, itch.io as alternative.
ScummVM v2026.1.0 "Like a Version"
January 31, 2026 — Massive release with 12 new engines and 190+ new games!

Infamous Adventures — KQ4 Remake Development Update
January 11, 2026 — The Infamous Adventures / Infamous Quests team posted a Patreon “Small Development Update” confirming the King’s Quest IV Remake has resumed active development: “The team has been really active again and hustling away to finish this up. They have been polishing some things up and doing just some amazing work.” Screenshots showed new promotional box art and refined background artwork.
